Before the First Sip, There’s a Whole Factory to Build
رجوع
Work is progressing at the new Zulfa Food Industries factory in Benghazi. Work has recently begun on the main electrical system for the factory, and engineers and technical specialists are looking at how the production equipment will be installed. A lot of work has still to be done but the work is starting to turn from planning to installation.
The latest development has been the arrival of four large electrical transformers. They have been unloaded and placed safely at the factory waiting to be installed. The transformers will help provide the electricity needed to power the production lines and other equipment in the building.
Work also started on a special electrical room that will help control the power supply for the factory. The current is of a higher voltage than most of the machines can take, so it has to be converted before it gets to the production lines. Zulfa is working with the National Construction Company and the General Electricity Company, to prepare the room and install the necessary systems.
The team also has been meeting with specialists from Tetra Pak Egypt and SIA Solutions as the electrical works are getting started. Representatives from both companies visited the factory to see the progress and discuss what needed to be done before the next round of equipment installations could begin.
During the visit they met with Zulfa’s management, engineers and contractors to review the layout of the factory. They looked at where machinery would be placed, how the pipes would run through the building and where the electrical cables would go. They also talked about drainage and insulation systems and how larger equipment and storage tanks might be moved into the factory. After those discussions the teams decided on a few changes in the placement of some of the machines and equipment. It was to make sure that all would fit together and that the different systems would not interfere with each other after installation began.
Zulfa is preparing for the next round of installations, with the new transformers on-site and equipment plans being worked out. The teams will continue with the preparation of the electrical systems and the agreed changes to the layout of the factory before moving into the rest of the work.
Most of this work will eventually disappear behind walls, machinery and production lines. But for now, these are the details the team is concentrating on, because they will affect how the factory works every day.
